Position: Psychological Counselor / Psychologist

Contract type: Full Time Employment

Location: Yerevan, Armenia

Duties

  • Provide counseling sessions to AUA students in the form of:
  • individual, and group counseling,
  • brief assessments,
  • mental health consultation with stakeholders across campus,
    • triage/crisis intervention,
    • referral services 
  • Carry out monthly well-being sessions on mental-health related topics,
  • Participate in case consultation meetings with the Director of Student Affairs,
  • Provide case management and documentation in support of service provision, ensure record-keeping and clinical services are in regulatory and ethical compliance, 
  • Participate in departmental and college committees and meetings as needed,
  • Support in developing and facilitating mental health related outreach programs to further promote Counseling Services and Disability Support Services among community members,
  • Prepare and facilitate monthly workshops for students covering topics on student mental health promotion and life skills development,
  • Develop social media promotional posts targeted at overcoming stigma over mental health,
  • Follow AUA Counseling Services procedures, including standards of confidentiality,
  • Follow established reporting formats,
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor - Director of Student Affairs.

 

Qualifications and requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Psychology or related field;
  • At least 5 years of counseling experience in working with adolescents and adults;
  • Experience in providing mental health services, diagnostic assessment and outreach to school age youth and teaching staff;
  • Previous work experience in developing and facilitating workshop;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Must have positive outlook;
  • Be a good team player;
  • Be receptive to constructive criticism;
  • Have intrinsic motivation and be a life-long learner;
  • Good oral and written command of English and Armenian;
  • Be at least intermediate computer user;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high pressure environment.
