The American University of Armenia (AUA) Extension is the non-degree arm of the University that plays a key role in the education, growth and prosperity of regional communities by providing the essential infrastructure and training in English language and topical areas most essential for the respective communities. Our vision is to ensure that rural communities have access to the knowledge and skills Extension offers for the betterment of respective residents. AUA Extension is appropriately resourced in various areas of learning, including languages, tourism and hospitality, small and medium-sized enterprise (MSME) support and advancement through training in leadership and management, women’s entrepreneurship, data science and information technologies, and other topics that may be identified by surveying the local population.

The Kapan Regional Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all AUA Extension activities in the Syunik region and works closely with the regional team under the guidance of the Extension Director. 

Job Duties

  • Coordinate AUA Extension activities in the Syunik region (centered in its Kapan office);
  • Work closely with the AUA Extension team to identify regional priorities and strategies; 
  • Advertise and promote AUA Extension offerings throughout the Syunik region. Enable regional capacity development based on regional program development priorities identified through market research, local demand for courses, and complementary training needs in the region;
  • Assist applicants to Extension courses in completing the registration process;
  • Identify and recommend new instructors and staff, as needed;
  • Develop partnerships with local and regional governments, NGOs and private sector entities;
  • Regularly update web pages and social media outlets of AUA Extension;
  • Ensure the provision and protection of equipment assigned to Kapan Extension;
  • Prepare and process instructor acceptance acts;
  • Ensure the implementation of policies and practice;
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience;
  • Graduate degree preferably in Economics, Business Administration, Public Administration, Political Science, or related fields;
  • Database management skills, knowledge of CRM;
  • Fluency in English and Armenian; knowledge of Russian and other languages is a plus;
  • Excellent interpersonal and team building skills with adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Ability to work with multiple communities.
